Julie's Story:

A fresh start was what Julie Beitel needed, and it was exactly what she got.

The clock struck midnight and with that Julie Beitei made a commitment to herself that would change her life once and for all. "It seemed like an appropriate time" says Julie, "The start of a new millennium signified to me a fresh start, a time that anything was possible."

Julie, who has given birth to four beautiful children, had experienced a significant increase in weight after each birth and decided now was the time to do something about it, "When I realized that the 20 pounds I had gained, during the pregnancies, was not coming off but compounding over time I knew I had to do something about It", The following morning Julie picked up the phone, took a deep breath, and called Just Ladies Fitness. "I new it wasn't going to come off by Itself or without some effort on my part" says Julie, "The lingering question was whether I would be able to motivate myself to change. Making it even harder was the fact that I would have to exercise regularly without a partner".

Jennifer's Story:

As a young child and teen, I was quite heavy even though I was fairly active. I swam, played tennis, did well in P.E. and danced for a couple of years. I always seemed to have a problem with my weight. At the age of of 16 or 17 I made a conscious decision to do something about my weight. It didn't happen right away, but after gradually changing my eating and exercise habits, the weight began to come off.

In January of 1998 I became an employee of Just Ladies Fitness and it was here that I began to take a real interest in fitness. I was a little intimidated in the beginning but after about three months I began to use the machines and soon after I began to participate in various classes. My confidence level rose quickly and I was soon working out 4-5 times a week.

Exercise has become one of my top priorities since I began working here and it's second nature to me now. To date I've lost 55-60 pounds. I look healthier and have a greater sense of self value, I can't even begin to describe how much better I feel about myself.

Throughout my teenage years, up until eight months ago. I struggled with my weight. I tried every diet plan available but nothing worked. After having some stomach pains that could have resulted in a bigger health issue, I was told by my doctor to change my current lifestyle. My doctor suggested that I cut out fatty food products from my diet and start an exercise program. I joined Just Ladies Fitness and changed my eating habits. I was going to Just Ladies Fitness a few times a week, and progressed to work out five days a week. I started to participate in Group Fitness classes like TKO and Body Pump and noticed my energy level was increasing the more I worked out. My exercise program is a balance of strength training and cardiovascular exercise, varying my routine has helped me stay motivated and committed to my lifestyle change. Since June 2000, I have lost a total of 56 pounds, and a total of 12 inches. My past health issues are just that, losing the weight and gaining strength has helped me to achieve my ultimate goal.
